I have never read any of your books. A-huntin' I will go. These letters/essays of yours—I don't really know what to call them—are gold. You are my favorite writer. For weeks now, I have not been able to read for a variety of reasons. But they are all saved, and tomorrow I start reading. Hugs, Felicia. Hang on in there.

Interesting, but very accurate description. I'm lucky, I suppose, in that being disabled, I get Social Security and SNAP benefits. (It also helps that I have friends who assist me from time-to-time and a high credit score) But writing isn't easy. I write from my own experiences and as a journalist. I have friends who write books. Some of them write on here and Medium. But what constitutes 'success?'

That second book of yours? Is on my nightstand at this moment. I’m on page 61 and cannot put it down. Discovered it on the shelf of one of our county libraries that I love but rarely get to. Damn right you should be proud. And yes, the work. It is a constant, an inescapable force.
