I so understand your plight. Currently I am destitute due to the “perfect storm”; illness, loss of income, Covid, and eviction. I had to start a Go Fund Me which is not moving very quickly! Ugh
I can’t live in the past but, I, too
Had many successes in my life-- I went from a 5 star life to a -1 star life 😢 Good luck to you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I’m sorry to hear that, but I have faith you will rebound and live through it. That is my fervent hope for all of us. Bakersfield? I don’t know. I wanted to.
I'm so glad to hear you cataloguing (up front) some of the many things you've accomplished. It's so important to spell those things out and not only focus on self-criticism.
The elephant in the room here is late stage capitalism in a collapsing society: Nearly everyone, even those who have accomplished much, faces precarity to some degree. The Precariat. Our absurd economic model has seeped into every facet of existence, poisoning our own brains to make us think we are Less Than. A lost job, a major illness, caregiving requirements -- all of these things can take even prosperous people and toss them into the churning sea. It's a shame that our society has come down to this.

P.S -- Bakersfield ?!?!? Why ??
I’m sorry to hear that, but I have faith you will rebound and live through it. That is my fervent hope for all of us. Bakersfield? I don’t know. I wanted to.
I've been there. It took me 10 years to try again. Flush the nay sayers. Keep writing! Hugs.
Thanks, Linda! 😊

I emphatically agree.
